Although it isn’t suggested, talcum powder can be added to the trap well to increase the rate with which bed bugs die once trapped.
When adding powder, be careful not to get any on either textured surface leading to the trap well.
If dust is mistakenly applied to textured access surfaces it will decrease the ability of bed bugs to climb those textured surface.
Follow the recommended maintenance by cleaning the device every 2-4 weeks with a microfiber cloth to remove any household dust and debris. After cleaning, reapply talcum powder if desired.
